A Song of Hope

A Song of Hope

I came to this beautiful island
On a mission to succeed in,
Leaving everything my very own
Back in my Motherland.

How I wish I could talk
With all my folks back at home,
Everyday and Everynight,
I miss them a lot all the time.
But somethings are not meant to be
And this is just one of them.

I see a lot of faces over here,
Just like those at my home,
A far away place is from where I come.
They all love having fun,
Talking anything to everything.

They all talk in their tongue,
Which is something new to me.
They all laugh, they all joke,
When they are in a group.

If only I could understand,
What they mean when they speak.
For now, I just nod & smile with them,
Just to keep up my happy mood
And for them to feel that I understand.

If only I could make a friend,
In anyone from over here,
With whom I could spend,
Day & night talking sense.

If only I could find a friend,
Who is as young as me.
May be then we could run,
On the beach, on the street.
May be we could dance or sing,
Or do anything beneath the sun
And it will surely be full of fun.

If only I could find a friend,
Who has enough time,
To share some with me.
May be then I will feel lonely no more.

If only my friend could understand
When I speak in my own tongue,
Or have enough patience
Till I learn his or her very own.

Will I meet such a friend?
I really don't know,
I have no clue.
That is something for time to tell,
Until then let me just sing this song
And wait for the special one to come along.

Thanks for the comment Madhura. Such experiences open up horizons never before known or seen. :)
