Darkness to Light
I began as a traveller in darkness,
On this vast ocean of my life's journey.
I was seeking from the twinkling stars up above,
To show me the unseen shores of my destiny.
Fighting with the brutal tempest,
For the sake of my dreams of Everest,
I continued to sail on this quest,
Which looked to be full of zest.
Night still prevailed around this sea,
Showing many strange things for me to see.
Poison was sweet as honey,
Divine nectar - bitter and tangy.
Some whom I considered my very own,
Showed me that, to them I am just a stranger.
And many who were to me just a stranger,
Showed me that, to them I was their very own.
Not knowing the inner meaning of this irony,
I ran around in confusion; blindly.
Tired of all this I sat down alone,
And let whoever I was to be gone.
In silence it then dawned to me,
At the twilight hour of dawn,
I am you and you are all my very own,
And this whole world is my only one.
A shining light enlightened my path,
Directing me as a magnetic compass needle.
Clouds dissolved as showers of love for my bath,
And my heart was lit up by a bliss candle.
I see you; divinely beautiful pearl,
Strung together in this string of creation.
Knowing you are here with me,
I dance celebrating my jubilation.
The past went by to its grave,
And a bright future awaits the brave,
This moment is all you have,
So be the best of what the divine gave.
Spread more love than you can get,
Others need it as much as you do.
Rise above from darkness to light,
In every end there is a new beginning.
