Originally written in Kannada by me, this poem is called [Honganasu].
For those who don't know Kannada to savor the essence of it... Here is my best translation of what it means, in English.
Beautiful Dream
The wishes which were hidden
At the depths of my heart,
I asked them their guarded secret...
They told me the following lines
And there formed a Beautiful Dream.
I want to be your shade when the Sun is utmost bright,
I want to be your moonlight when the night is utmost dark,
I want to be the coolness in your sultry summer heat,
I want to be the warmth in your cold winter chill,
All these I want to be for You,
That is my loving Wish...
I want to be the backbone of your dreams,
I want to be the reflection of your blissful smile,
I want to be the flag charioteer of your success,
I want to be the lover of your life,
All these I want to be for You,
That is my loving wish...
Is this loving wish only a figment of my dream!?
Will that figment ever see the light of reality!?
I am eagerly waiting for one meeting with you,
The eagerness has turned into desperation,
For just... just one glimpse of You.
Come back... why have you disappeared so far away?
The emotions of these lines... at least once listen,
This innocent heart's melodious call for you.
If you are there with me everything is a beautiful reality,
If you are not with me then this is a broken dream.
Come cheerfully laughing into my life
And be the silver lining of my dark cloud,
Come in auspiciously with your best foot forward
And be the brightly lit lantern of my life.
Make this beautiful dream a reality...
Come be the loving partner of my life.
